This prompted me to both reply and write a blog (Business networking tips)
A summary of which is below:
A lot of people seem to think that networking is hard - or "not their thing..."
If more people thought of networking as
"going to the pub and make new friends"
rather than -
I must try and find a new customer
or I have xxx to sell
then none of these (debates about the value of business networking) discussions would happen.
- why we try to make it fit some artificial "management" or "sales" process is beyond me.So the real question is - do you want to make new friends or not?
What do you think of the attitude many of us take to networking - either on or off line?
